Presenter Application for
SHP Project Showcase

Celebrate your accomplishment of earning the SHP designation and apply to be a featured speaker in Earth Advantage’s upcoming SHP Project Showcase on January 20, 2021! 

Earth Advantage invites all Sustainable Homes Professionals (SHPs) to apply for this exciting presentation opportunity where you’ll have 10-minutes to present on one or more aspects of your SHP final project (&/or any homebuilding projects you've done since taking SHP) to an audience of your industry peers.

As graduates of the SHP training program, it’s likely your mind is brimming with the latest innovative products and high performance building approaches. By applying to present your final project, you’ll have a brief chance to share how SHP inspired you and what new practices you are implementing in your future building projects. 
 
For this SHP Project Showcase, we are looking for presenters that illustrate different approaches and best practices of successful high performance design and building. Keep in mind not all presenters need to cover cutting edge topics, as emphasis will also be placed on approaches that are easily replicable and/or provide overall net positive outcomes. SHP instructors will review applicants and select candidates who submitted SHP Final Projects with compelling or exceptional features in one or more of the following SHP training curriculum categories:

• Certification and Rating Systems
• Building Science Fundamentals
• Integrated Design
• Envelope Mechanical Systems
• Performance Testing
• Responsible Material Use 
• Health and Indoor Air Quality
• Water Conservation

The audience for the showcase will include Northwest building industry professionals, fellow SHP training participants, code officials, energy raters/verifiers, and program representatives who are looking for both inspiration and practical applications to apply to their own projects. SHP Instructor, Stephen Aiguier, will facilitate the session and additional time for audience Q&A will follow each of the 10-minute presentations.

This is a great opportunity to showcase your skill, promote yourself and/or your business, and network with other industry leaders. As SHP trainees you’ve completed extensive coursework with our expert instructors, toured under-construction high performance projects, learned from product demos and guest speakers with special expertise in their fields, and  can now demonstrate your proven ability to incorporate that knowledge into your professional work. Industry professionals are excited to learn from you!

HOW TO APPLY

Accredited SHPs who are interested in presenting at the Project Showcase have until Dec 17th to: 

• Submit your SHP Final Projects via the online training 
• Apply to present at the Project Showcase 

Applicants will be notified if they were selected or not by Dec 31st. Earth Advantage staff will be available during the three weeks that follow to support you through the presentation development process leading up to the showcase on Jan 20, 2022. Selected SHP Project Showcase presenters will also be featured in Earth Advantage’s email and social media communications leading up to the event.
