Jake Selstad | Center for Energy and Environment

Senior Rater

Jake began his energy efficiency career in 2012 as a Conservation Corps volunteer with the Neighborhood Energy Connection (merged with CEE in 2017) primarily focused on existing homes. He started with direct installs, then whole home assessments and eventually performing quality assurance inspections on retrofit projects. Around 2016 Jake began to pivot to new construction and became a RESNET HERS rater in 2017.  Since 2017, Jake has completed hundreds of ratings in both single and multifamily projects.  These projects range from standard HERS ratings, through Energy Star, Indoor AirPlus, DOE ZERH and even several Phius Certified projects. In his current role as senior rater, Jake now helps new construction projects meet their energy efficiency and certification goals.  Whether working with someone building a dream home or a full project team working on a large multifamily apartment, Jake offers guidance from early design through completed construction and certification.
