Promote your Zero Energy (ZE) home expertise to the market and become a 'Zero Energy Professional'
Earth Advantage has teamed up with BetterBuiltNW and EEBA to launch a no-cost, 3-hour 'How to Cost Effectively Build Zero Energy Homes' online training designed for NW audiences to learn about affordable Zero Energy (ZE) home design and construction.
Participants who complete this online training have the opportunity to earn EEBA's 'Zero Energy Professional' designation and be listed on the EEBA & Earth Advantage registries of accredited professionals.
Zero Energy Professionals have been trained on the numerous elements of zero energy design and construction, including design principles, equipment options, emerging technologies, material selections, and construction practices that can be integrated into their building process. Strong emphasis is placed on ways to make the final product affordable for homebuyers. Sales and marketing ideas are also presented, along with housing market drivers, and ways to assess and communicate economic benefits.
How to become a 'Zero Energy Professional'
To earn the designation, attendees must complete the 'How to Cost Effectively Build Zero Energy Homes' online training, pass this designation exam, and complete one of the following prerequisite trainings (or sets of trainings):

Option 1: Earth Advantage's Sustainable Homes Professional (SHP) designation training

Option 2: EEBA's High Performance Builder designation training (three courses: Houses That Work, High Performance Mechanicals & HERS Associate)
Exam Requirements
You must pass the designation exam with a score of 80% or better, and will be given up to two opportunities to pass.
