The ADU Academy is for ADU professionals who are seeking the most in-depth and cutting edge education on ADUs that is available across the country, and who are looking to connect with a national network of ADU practitioners.

ADUs are a recently re-emerging housing phenomena with many distinctive development elements. The Academy provides detailed and expert insights about ADU development from industry practitioners who have first-hand experience in this growing sector within leading US markets for ADUs. The ADU Academy is an educational event about ADUs for industry professionals. Specifically, it’s for designers, builders, entrepreneurs, developers, realtors, real estate investors, lenders, appraisers, and advocates. 

The event is taught by experienced practitioners and designed to help you:

  • Acquire in-depth education about the broad range of ADU issues that set you apart as an ADU professional

Become an ADU Specialist  

Promote your new ADU expertise and credentials with our ADU Specialist accreditation! 

Attend this training and become eligible to earn the nationally-recognized 'ADU Specialist' accreditation in order to display your ADU expertise to the market. Join the network of over 300 accredited professionals across 13 states who have leveraged the designation to add valuable credibility to their business and tapped into this growing market with the backing of an organization that has trained and accredited thousands of professionals across the country on sustainable building practices. 

Participants must attend one of our qualified trainings (this 'ADU Academy' event is one of them) and pass an accreditation exam. After passing the exam, Earth Advantage provides a registry listing, logo package, and marketing support for ADU Specialists to then promote their newly acquired designation via business cards, email signatures and website in order to differentiate themselves from other professionals.

Note: 'ADU Specialist' is an optional designation and it is not required to attend the 'ADU Academy' event.

Portland’s Accessory Dwelling Unit Tour

ADU Academy attendees get free admission to the ADU Tour taking place the following day, on June 25th from 10am-4pm. 

A self guided tour for people interested in learning more about ADUs and meeting the homeowners, builders, and designers who built them. This tour contains 17 never before seen ADUs throughout Portland. This event attracts a national audience, so you won't want to miss it!
