The Oregon Department of Energy sets guidelines and requirements for creating home energy scores for residential homes and providing compliant home energy reports to owners. This orientation will cover all the program requirements and assessor workflows to generate a compliant report through the Green Building Registry for the State of Oregon, City of Portland and City of Milwaukie.

Agenda:

  • Overview of Assessor workflow for Oregon Home Energy Score programs
  • Green Building Registry tool: Generating compliant reports and accessing other functionality
  • Home energy report components: How to communicate these elements to clients and real estate brokers
  • Quality Assurance Requirements
  • Includes overviews of the State of Oregon, City of Milwaukie and City of Portland programs
Prerequisites:

Must have ALREADY completed the following steps:
  • Complete STEP 1. Obtain and verify qualifying US DOE credentials.
  • Complete STEP 2. Complete Home Energy Score Simulation training.
  • Complete STEP 3: Obtain and verify home energy assessor CCB certificate.
  • Complete STEP 4. Complete the home energy assessor participation agreement.
If you will be scoring homes outside of the Portland Metro Area you will also need to complete a separate mandatory Remote QA Form and GoFormz application training. To determine if you need this training you can find additional details regarding QA requirements in Part 8: Geographic Qualifications of the Oregon Home Energy Score Assessor Participation Agreement. A quick way to determine if you are in a Remote QA area is if the home being scored is outside of these three counties; Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington County. You can sign up for the Remote QA training via the training calendar link

*Please indicate in your registration if you know you will be scoring outside of PDX Metro.

If you are already an active Assessor in the City of Portland Program you will receive a 2nd Assessor ID once completing all the steps that will be used for the State of Oregon and City of Milwaukie Home Energy Scores.  We will need a 2nd email to set up that ID. There are some differences between the different program reports and additional QA requirements for Oregon HES Assessors that will be covered in this orientation.
