Attend this class to learn the pros vs cons of various high-performance wall and roof assemblies, including double-stud walls, staggered stud framing, truss designs, I-joist, foundations, window types,  and more. Participants learn principles that can be applied to existing homes and new construction projects, including durable wall design, insulation strategies and air sealing, product selection, and construction. The course addresses the importance of performance testing and diagnostics to verify the performance of installed equipment and the home’s envelope.

Josh Salinger
Josh Salinger: Joshua Salinger is Founder and CEO of Birdsmouth Construction, a residential Design-Build company located in Portland OR. In 2007 he started Birdsmouth Construction with the goal of designing and building beautiful, high performing buildings that transform and improve the built environment. He is an accredited Sustainable Homes Professional (SHP) with Earth Advantage, sits on the board of Passive House Northwest, and is a PHIUS Certified Builder. He lives in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood of Portland with his wife and 2 children. He enjoys playing guitar, yoga, cooking, bemoaning the inefficiency of his house, and making the world’s best cup of coffee. At Earth Advantage's 2018 Green Builder of the Year, Birdsmouth earned two awards for Zero Energy Builder of the Year & Lowest EPS (Energy Performance Score) of the Year.
