Building Data and Science 

Earth Advantage Institute works with its partners and through federal and state grants to conduct industry research, surveys and data collection on pressing topics related to green building, energy behavior, and climate change.

Recent studies include the Green Building Value Initiative that surveyed certified home prices in Portland and Seattle, and an ongoing federal project with Lawrence Livermore Laboratories that assesses the accuracy of multiple software packages for the purposes of home energy performance scoring. Earth Advantage Institute is also a primary contributor to a life cycle assessment of residential homes initiated by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, which examines the climate change impacts associated with homes.
