The Carbon Advantage program, in coordination with Earth Advantage Institute’s Education program, provides a variety of educational classes for business, community and building industry professionals and consumers. Customized classes for teams and employees are also available.

Introduction to Climate Change covers the fundamental concepts related to global climate disruption and the associated risks and opportunities. Participants will examine the current science of climate change, including human and natural contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. The course will explore the ramifications of climate change on ecosystems and ecosystem services, the human and social impacts, and the business risks and opportunities. Participants will examine several case studies about the challenges of climate destabilization.
Communicating the Case for Action on Climate Change: Science, Risks and Opportunities. This course covers the fundamental concepts related to global climate disruption and the associated risks and opportunities and strategies for effective communication around these issues. Through webinars, readings, and discussion forums, participants will examine the current science of climate change including anthropogenic and natural contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. They will explore the ramifications of climate change on ecosystems and ecosystem services, the human and social impacts, and the business risks and opportunities. The course then shifts focus to discuss different approaches to communicating the need for individual and organizational action on climate change, including examination of different techniques and communication tools.
