LEED® for Homes Technical Review

Are you ready to enter the rapidly growing green building market?
Attend the LEED for Homes Technical Review presented by the U.S. Green Building Council.
This USGBC workshop will be taught by Earth Advantage's very own, Randy Hansell. Randy is one of the top green building practitioners in the country, has worked closely on the pilot and launch of LEED for Homes and is certified as a LEED for Homes trainer.
Who should attend?
Industry professionals seeking to increase their understanding of the LEED for Homes Rating System and green building strategies, benefits and resources:

- Designers
- Consultants
What's covered:
- Credit requirements fo the LEED for Homes Rating System
- Costs and benefits of LEED Homes
- Information on products and construction practices; certification and verification; program administration practices; marketing and sales
Cost:

Mt. Hood Community College will once again hold the Sustainable Building Advisor Program this October. The SBAP is a nine month program, designed to enable graduates to advise on sustainable development, design and building practices. The 34 students in the present class are professionals in the sustainability industry and include engineers, contractors, architects, interior designers, developers and facility managers.

Home & Garden Idea Fair - Clark Public Utilities

The 17th Annual Clark Public Utilities Home & Garden Idea Fair will be held on April 25, 26, and 27, 2008, at the Clark County Event Center, located at 17402 NE Delfel Road in Ridgefield, Washington, just nine miles north of the I-5 bridge at exit 9.
The hours for the 2008 show are:
Friday, April 25: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 26: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, April 27: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The fair features hundreds of ideas on how to make your home a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly place and will feature a model display home with energy efficient and green features by Earth Advantage builder, New Tradition Homes.
It‘s a fun filled event, with activities for the entire family. Admission is FREE and venue parking is $5. Canned food donations for local food banks or cash donations to Operation Warm Heart are welcome, but visitors don’t have to spend another dime at the fair unless they want to.

Earth Advantage is proud to sponsor the Tour of New Homes in Southwest Washington features 25 professional builders and 41 new homes, ranging in price from $210,000 to $1,450,000. Ten homes have been Energy Star and Earth Advantage performance tested and certified. Our featured builders include: New Tradition Homes, Taylormade Homes, SummerPlace Homes, Fieldstone Construction and Pac Rim Homes.
The tour runs for two consecutive weekends:
April 11-13 and April 18-20 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

2008 ReThink Class Series

Don't miss the 2008 series of ReThink classes offered through the Office of Sustainable Development.
In the first of a five class series, Sean Penrith, Executive Director for Earth Advantage, will help to kick off the classes with "Responding to climate change: reducing your carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions."
Additional dates and topics include:
