Trisha Paul comes to us with a strong sales background in the construction industry, with an education in Business Management, and more recently in Architecture at PSU. Trisha has vast experience in the residential and multifamily development realm comes with over 8 years at DR Horton in the roles of Purchasing Manager and Quality Control Manager. Also with this experience comes knowledge of Energy Trust of Oregon programs and energy efficiency optimization in residential developments.
We asked Trisha a few questions to get to know her better. This is what she had to say:
Where are you from?
Trisha: Portland.
Have you lived anywhere else?
Trisha: I grew up in Corbett and graduated from Corbett High School.
What do you do?
Trisha: I work in the commercial department doing outreach for Energy Trust New Commercial Building program. In addition I implement Earth Advantage measures for multifamily homes, this includes affordable housing projects.
How did you discover Earth Advantage?
Trisha: Back in 2005, I worked for D.R. Horton and we brought Earth Advantage and Energy Star programs into our new homes. I met Duane Woik and collaborated with him for 4-5 years. In 2009, I was let go from D.R. Horton, and I had the opportunity to further my education in the area of architecture at Portland State, and I kept myself open to new opportunities.
What do your co-workers come to you for?
Trisha: I’m fairly new so actually I’m going to them with questions. It’s definitely a community environment here. In fact, I recommended to a friend, Annah, a few years ago that she apply for an open position with EA. She got the job and today it is nice to see her around the office. Every day we all work together to reduce energy consumption and make healthier environments by building better.
What do you for fun?
Trisha: The outdoors. Biking, hiking, snowboarding, wakeboarding.
Any summer plans?
Trisha: Camping and music. Hopefully some weekend getaways and I’ll spend time with family. With luck, I’ll get some reading done too.
What kind of music do you listen to?
Trisha: I love all music with the exception of death metal.....I am into classic country lately... to the complete distaste of my 2 kids.
What are you reading now?
Trisha: 'Freakonomics' and 'World Without Ends'.
What keeps you up at night?
Trisha: I’m not much of a worrier. Besides, I like my sleep – I’m not willing to give it up!
What advice would you give someone who’d like a career like yours?
Trisha: Take any learning opportunity that presents itself. Build bridges and relationships. Get your hands dirty. Be educated.
