Earth Advantage Institute Green Team: Practicing what we preach

The Earth Advantage Institute Green Team is dedicated to practicing the sustainable message that the organization preaches. We recognize that reducing the environmental impact of our own operations is an important part of the value that we deliver to our customers. Leading by example is the key to our success.  

As a non-profit focused on promoting the wise use of our natural resources in the built environment, Earth Advantage Institute established its Green Team to ensure that beyond the green building services it provides, it strives to create sustainability throughout its internal operations. The Green Team’s role is to reduce the impact of such activities as purchasing supplies, heating/cooling of facilities, and staff travel so that the organization reduces its carbon footprint.

Goals

• The green team seeks to lead the organization in the wise use of our natural resources in the workplace to promote our triple-bottom line – people, planet, and profit.
• Improve indoor air quality
• Reduce consumption of fossil fuels, energy and water resources
• Employ low impact land practices
• Purchase sustainably manufactured and sourced materials
• Encourage the use of sustainable transportation methods and food production
